Sherbert pips 9 patch

I made this Sunday night with a sherbert pips charm pack. I used the disappearing 9 patch technique, there are tons of tutorials online for this. I backed the blankie with some cuddle chenille. I've linked this over to Fabric Tuesdays on Quiltstory. I've been having trouble posting since yesterday, so yes I know this is a day late!

Tulip Quilt

I made this quilt about 10 years ago, BC (before children) while living in Alberta. There was a fabulous little quilt shop there, where I learned to quilt. I took many classes, and this tulip quilt was one of them. I believe the pattern is by the Buggy Barn, not positive though. It was the first quilt that I ever appliqued, and the whole thing is hand quilted, which took a long time, but is so beautiful in person. I still love this quilt after all these years, love the deep purple of the tulips, and the different shades of neutrals on the back. There was one fat quarter I used that was sparkly snowflakes, that one was my favorite. I am just now posting this quilt because I wanted to share it on the Bloggers Quilt Festival that Amy Ellis is hosting.

Father's Day Card

Here is a card for my Dad (who is a farmer, and always plants a huge garden) for Father's Day. The stamp is from Stamping Bella, I used prismacolors to color. I'm trying to use up some leftover paper from last week's stamp-a-stack, so you may see similar color combos more than once!!

Lisa's cards from Saturday class

I hope you don't mind Lisa, but I am sharing your cards from Saturday's stamp-a-stack in Windsor. Kelly has also posted all the cards on her blog at My Stamping Studio.
We had a great time on Saturday, the participants made 24 all occasion cards (2 each of 12 designs). We have already booked the Christmas one for October 23rd!

Reusable snack bags

I made these yesterday for part of a birthday party gift. They are great for dry snacks for school, in the car etc. and are machine washable. I use nylon for the inside, so lots of times I just brush the crumbs out with a damp cloth.

SAS card 4

I just finished the last card for stamp-a-stack next Saturday. I used a sketch from the blog the sweetest thing for her sketch challenge 115. I used a Taylored Expression stamp and the sentiment is Stampin Up!

Reproduction 1930's vintage fabric

I made this quilt for my sister over 9 years ago! It was a Christmas present I made for her and I still love it. We visited PEI for Easter so I thought I'd take a photo of it while I was there. The fabrics were from a little shop in Lethbridge, Alberta called Thistledown Quilts. It was at that store where I learned to quilt!!

Red and Pink mitts

I have some different colors of roving wool (used to make the little thrums) besides the white, so thought I would try a different color combo for these mitts. I like the red thrums, I think it contrasts well with the light pink. But I must admit, my favorite is still a dark mitt, with the white thrums. The next ball I have is a beautiful turquoise color, I bought it at the Seaport Market in Halifax from a farmer in Liscombe I believe. Have a good day!

2 more Aprons

So, I've decided to keep the pear apron for myself, since this fabric is hard to find, especially the aqua pear and apples (alexander henry). Love the coffee cups, but I can reorder this easily in the future since it is relatively new. I have 2 more finished aprons, but have decided to leave it as is, that's enough of my photo on the blog!! As my 9 year old says- you need a mannequin!

I've linked this post to Quiltstory, lots of inspiration over on their blog! Check it out.

Another apron I made for a friend of Michelle's. My girls took these photos for me (a little blurry, but you get the idea).

Baby Shower card

It is so cold and windy outside today, I probably should have done the photo in the house-I realize now that it looks a little blurry. Anyhow, I have a shower to go to tomorrow, so I decided on these images from Stamping Bella. I cut out each clothespin and the little clothes, then colored with prismacolor pencils.

Baby gift with Decor Elements

This is the last of the canvas art for awhile! A friend is having a baby in June and I wanted to get this to her before she did too much in the baby's room. So, these are 12 x 12 canvases, the scallop frame is 11 x 11 and the animals are from the alphabet animals in the Decor elements book by Stampin Up! So cute, she loved them.

Decor elements tree

Here is a piece a friend requested I do for her. The tree is by Stampin Up!, their Decor Elements line. I cut the tree into 3 pieces and then put it on the canvas that I had painted in ivory. Hope she likes it!
