New scarves

Made a few new scarves today- I'll be applying for a Spring Fair soon that will take place on April 26th, so, in hopes of being a vendor there I thought I would start sewing some stock.  Also, my craft room redesign begins in less than 2 weeks so trying to clear up some fabric off my table at the same time!!  I'm excited, it's going to be so much more functional and pretty!  I'll for sure share some photos with you.

WIP Wednesday!!

Pin ItFor the first time in months I have a quilting project to share for WIP Wednesday!!  I have been commissioned to make 2 twin size quilts for two little girls-who are also twins!!  So, I'm using the pattern Sweets from Allison Harris's book Growing Up Modern.  So far, I have 29 blocks of the 48 finished.  I am quite happy with the colors.  My favorite blocks are the toadstools and the hedgehog/deer.  So cute.

The Library Project

Adrienne from Chezzetcook Quilts has started The Library Project (click on the button to learn more about it if you would like to participate).  I have some projects chosen that I would love to finish before the end of 2014!  First up, a twin size version of the quilt named Sweets below from Allison Harris's book Growing up Modern.

Next will be another twin size quilt from the book Simply Retro.  This pattern is a square quilt but I'll have to adjust it slightly to make it a twin size.

This pattern is one that I won from Quiltstory.  It is just so cute, and I have a thing with squares in quilts-my mind is symmetrical I guess.

I bought this Modern Log Cabin book ages ago.  I did make one quilt from it  a few years ago, but I'm really drawn to the one on the front.  Looks like something that should be kept on the couch for winter tv watching!

And, I've made more chevron scarves than you can count, but have yet to make a chevron quilt!!  It's the whole reason I bought this Quilting Quickly magazine.

Pin ItOk, so that's 5 projects
1. Sweets
2. Framed
3. Sawyer's Tracks
4. Log cabin crosses
5. Chevron
Let's see how many can be completed this year-on top of my regular orders and craft fairs!!

Lots of sewing......

I made another quilt that will be used as a photo prop for newborns.  This one aqua and white with flannel on the back.  I've also been sewing a ton of scarves and added one more knit cowl to my collection.  (well, it's not much of a collection as they sell as soon as I post them!)  Anyhow, I'm off to my first quilt guild meeting ever in my life!  Looking forward to meeting some like minded ladies.
Well, time to go-hope to check in again soon.

Newborn photography props

I started off the New Year at my sewing machine!  I haven't sewed anything over the holidays and I have been anxious to get this little project started and finished!  I had an order from a photographer for a mini quilt for her newborn sessions and so we decided on yellow and white for the first one.
I'm using my daughter's doll bed for my photo prop, but hers' will be much cuter little babies!
Pin ItI just did a cross hatch pattern for my quilting and backed it with a soft grey flannel with white polka dots so she can use the reverse too if she wants.

Happy New Year All!!

Merry Christmas, and finishing up some gifts!

Hooray!  I finished another of these cuddle blankets for my youngest daughter-now just need to wrap it and put it under the tree.  Finally, some handmade blankets for my own house-although they don't really belong to me!  I used the Happy Go Lucky line from Bonnie and Camille, and bought the fabric from an online shop in PEI called Ella's Cottage.
All this Christmas movie watching has given me extra knitting time.  I finished this teal cowl last night.  It's so pretty in person, it has some color variations in the wool, so soft and cozy.

Pin ItWell, this may well be the last post until Christmas.  I have some other project ideas in mind, but let's be realistic-this house needs some cleaning and I need to cook some food.  Merry Christmas all!

Teacher's gift

I had a few orders for some list takers/passport wallets so I decided to make one for Charlotte's teacher as well (the teal/chartreuse damask).  I love these wallets to give as gifts, and mine served me very well to hold travel documents on our family trip this summer.

Pin ItThe girls have a birthday party to go to on Saturday, so I made this card for the birthday girl.  Turned out super cute, I love that coastal cabana color that Stampin Up! has out this year-new favorite!

Handmade gift..

Pin ItHooray for snow days!  I just finished this chenille blanket for my oldest daughter.  I used a lot of the Nordika line by Jeni Baker.  Next up, a blanket for my youngest daughter, and I need to make a few passport wallets/list takers this week as well.  I love giving handmade for Christmas-but time is running out!!

Cozy knit cowl for -20C!!!

Pin ItIt is so cold here this last week or so.  And tomorrow we are expecting our first real storm of the season; 20-30 cm of snow!!  Better than having a green Christmas like we have the last few years though.
I finished up this tweed cowl last night-it will be warming up a friend in PEI soon.  Happy Saturday all!!

Checking in....

This poor, neglected blog!  Since I started my Facebook page, I find that I update that page and forget to post on here.  Anyhow, a few more cozy, flannel scarves that I sewed last week.

And this is a large chenille blanket which is a gift for my sister-in-law.  It finishes at 56x56 and has white dot chenille on the back.  Perfect for a little snuggle on the couch.
Pin ItI just love the flower fabric on the bottom right, and so chose the coordinating colors from there.
I'm linking up to The Needle and Thread Network today-feels like forever since I've done that!

Cozy knit cowls

Pin ItI made some knit cowls over the summer-finally decided to post them.  They are so cozy for this time of year.  I have another tweed one on the needles right now, and will share once it's done.
