The Sew Sisters Blog hop comes to Nova Scotia today and I have a wonderful list of bloggers to share with you. I was delighted when Carol asked me to be a part of this week long event featuring Canadian Quilters. Carol and I "met" online through our quilting blogs when she was still living in India, and then we reconnected once she was settled in Toronto! The Internet can make the world a small place indeed!
Anyhow, a little about me. I've been married for 14 years, and together we have 2 daughters, aged 10 and 7. I started quilting about 12 years ago, took a bit of a break when the girls were young, and started again about 2 years ago. I love to create in general and if you look through my blog you'll see a variety of mediums- fabric, wool, paper crafts etc.
I am partway through craft fair season with only the East Coast Momma Collective fair left in December, so I don't have any quilts I'm working on right now. I did, however, finish up quite a few over the summer.
So, I do have a prize to give away from Sew Sisters. I chose a bundle of Kona Solids (5 co-ordinating colors, 1/2 metre each) as the prize for this stop on the tour. (And yes, ash is one of the colors!)

Beautiful quilts Jeanette! Your background sounds extremely like mine except my girls are almost 10 and 12 (I`m starting to hear about it regularly as both birthdays are quickly approaching). Moved to NS a couple of years ago and have been looking for quilters (fabric stores)and what craft shows, etc are in the area. Thanks for being the NS host. I belong to the Paradise Village Quilters Guild in the Annapolis Valley. Our blog has lots of pictures showing how active our 30+ members are. I am just embarking on trying stamping & painting on fabric for quilts. All parts of quilting are so consuming and so much fun.

Ash Grey is a gorgeous shade in the Kona and one I have just bought fat-quarters in coordinating shades of yellows, darker greys, prints all sorts etc to go along with. I think it is one rich shade.
Your an awfully busy person, how do you get all these items completed? Your fabric baskets/boxes are great and I am seeing making one for my Daughters' coffee maker table to hold her Keurig pods (or whatever we are supposed to call them). SO..thank-you for a great Christmas project idea that is functional and pretty.

My in laws were from Nova Scotia and I have had the opportunity to visit there a couple of times. It is a gorgeous part of the country. Our son moved to Charlottetown PEI a year ago to be with his girl who is from Sydney Nova Scotia.
