A couple of things to share...

I had a family friend make me this ladder to display my quilts on at my upcoming craft shows.  I love it!  It's so sturdy, and makes the quilts look fantastic.  It may become a permanent fixture in my house after the shows are over too!

Today, I tried the ipad tutorial by One Shabby Chick, it went really well and fits my ipad and the magnetic cover that goes over it.

Now, I feel like it's a little more protected when we are travelling-always a little concerned about dropping it and breaking the glass!!
And, I found out today that I will be in the East Coast Momma Fair BOTH Dec 1 & 2 at St.Mary's boat club.  This fair is going to be awesome-they have a photographer there set up to take holiday photos, and 30 minute workshops throughout the day that customers can take to learn a new craft!  Awesome.

50th Anniversary Card

My parents will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, so I made this card for them.  The whole family will be together for the first time in years!!
I noticed the theme on the Paper Players website was to use a frame for your card, so I cut the center of the silver glitter paper out (2 different size Spellbinders together) to frame the Happy Anniversary.  The background is embossed with the SU set Flowering Flourishes, with some accent pearls in the flower centers.

Infinity Scarves

This morning, I made a couple of infinity scarves.  This is a lightweight jersey knit in an oatmeal color, perfect for under any color winter coat (except white as per my 10 year old).

This one is navy and white, also a jersey knit and with a burnout pattern that is so popular in t-shirts right now.  This one is really soft and cozy, I may have a hard time to part with it!

Baby Boom?

I just finished sewing 20 bibs this morning, that's in addition to the others I already had done, so I seriously hope that PEI has experienced a baby boom this year and they all come to the Colonel gray craft fair in November!!  Anyhow, it's a good feeling to have the cloth bibs done, but I certainly thought I could finish them in the morning, not just now at 2pm!!  On to the next item I guess-starting infinity scarves tomorrow.
Linking up to The Needle and Thread Network today.

I really am sewing....

I can't believe it's been a week since I updated my blog!  I really have been sewing a lot for the fairs, but I haven't photographed everything.  I've been stockpiling some bibs, and yesterday I made these cute sets of flannel burp cloths that are backed with the softest organic flannel I've ever seen.  Panic mode is starting to set in, if only I didn't have to sleep I could get so much more done!!

Friday finishes

Hooray, I finished up 6 chenille blankets today!  2 boyish, 2 girlish, and 2 that could go either way!  A closer look-
Now, just to make the bibs to match and I think I have enough blankie sets made for the fair.  Today, I went for a massage to work out the massive knots in my shoulders.  Do any of my fellow sewists get seriously sore neck and shoulders??  This is worse than when I was doing dental hygiene full-time!  Anyhow, have a great weekend everyone-I'll be linking up to Felicity Friday and also Crazy Mom Quilts today to show off these blanket finishes.

Obviously a fan of blue....

As I look at these list takers that I just finished, I realize that almost all of them have at least one shade of blue in them!!  Not much pink happening over here, except the one.  Anyhow, that's 12 made (picture me crossing that off my to do list!) so I'm on to making some more bibs and blankies.

For those who like to make lists.....

I love making lists, and crossing them off once completed!  So, I decided to make fancy up the plain notepad with some really cute fabric.  I'm loving toadstools right now.
So far, I've made 5.  I'm planning on having these on my craft table, so I'll likely make another 5.  I used Essex linen in Putty.  Unfortunately, I don't have any more, but I do have another linen that is slighty lighter so I'll use that instead.  And here's a photo of the inside:
I'll be linking this today to The Needle and Thread Network-all you Canadian bloggers should link up over there.

Baskets

I have been starting to build stock for upcoming craft shows.  I love these baskets, and didn't even realize I have a gray fetish right now until I posted these photos!  I guess I'll have to branch out into other color families!!  Anyhow, linking up to Sew Modern Monday at Canoe Ridge Creations today.

Hit or Miss??

So yesterday I broke into my Salt Air charm pack and made this little chevron quilt.  The problem is that I pictured it differently in my head, and now I'm not sure if I want this to be a quilt top or a quilt back!  I was planning on quilting in blue thread an echo pattern of the chevron onto the kona solid, so I'm thinking that would help add texture to the solid blue color.  I'm wondering if I would love this more had a stuck with a white solid, but I really wanted to use a different color for a change!!  I need some suggestions-what would you do with this quilt besides fold it up and lay it on the "I'll deal with it later" shelf???

I'm linking this up to Felicity Friday and Lee at Freshly Pieced  in hopes that all you wonderful quilters out there can help solve my problem!!

Sew Modern Monday

I finally sewed some more patchwork chenille blankets this afternoon.  I've had the squares cut since July, so I guess it's about time!
I love these owls, this is the second time I've bought them and I normally never repeat fabric choices (with the exception of polka dots-my fav).
The back is chenille, but instead of the dot I went with this pattern.  It is really soft, love the bright colors on the back.   I made 2 of these, they are virtually the same, a few different patches in each one.  It has just been confirmed that I have a table at the Colonel Grey High School craft fair in Charlottetown, PEI so I am starting to sew for that already!  It is November 16 and 17. Megan is hosting her Sew Modern Mondays again, so today I will be linking up to her and visiting all the other wonderful links on her blog!

For the baby boys...

I was in desperated need to restock my baby boy chenille blankets-it seems like all the new babies have been boys!!  Anyhow, I had 3 of the blankets done before my trip, and I just finished the 4th and the bibs this morning.
Love these cars from the Peak Hour line.

Robots are super cute-boy fabric is much more fun these days-I'm not much of a fan of batman/spiderman fabric!

These little helicopters are on their way to Newfoundland for the newest little cousin born into our family in September!

And finally, some dinosaurs.  Love these guys, and I'm sure little girls would love this blanket too.  When Claire was 3, we only read her dinosaur books.  She was obsessed with them, and could pronounce all the big names.  I must admit, I have a vast knowledge of dinosaurs now that I never would have imaginged before being a Mom!!

Stampin Up cards

I had a small group of ladies over last night to make some cards.  The above card is using the new set The Open Sea, and I finally used my spiral notebook punch which I've owned for ages and never used!

This is a variation of my Mom's bday card, using summer starfruit as the background color.  I love these flowers, such a pretty set.  I think it's called serene silhouettes.

This one is using the set of butterflies called Papillon Potpourri.  It has a matching punch which is awesome, love the size of this punch.

This card features the quint-essential flower which is just one stamp but can be punched out and layered in 5 layers.  We used a lot of punches on this card!
