I bought a new quilting book for myself for Christmas-this block pattern came from it (I adjusted the pattern a little-only making 9 blocks, no borders). The backing is a faux fur cream chenille. Very soft. I love the pink/brown/blue color combo on the fabric. Here is a link to Camille's blog, her book cover is on the right hand side.

Funky Four
I made this little card today to send to my sister-her birthday is coming up in January. This is the first time I've used the mushrooms from the funky four set (stampin up). I think I'll make this again, but instead of coloring each mushroom a different color, just do them all in the espresso. I like that dark brown mushroom best!

Baby girl gift set
After making the previous basket, I really wanted to use some muslin, and felt shapes to see if the basket could be a little sturdier, without having to use interfacing. So I die-cut some felt shapes, then hand stitched them to the outside fabric, before sewing everything together. Then of course, I wanted to fill the basket! So I made 3 flannel burp cloths, a block, a ribbon lovey, and a bib. It's all flannel, except for terry cloth on the back of the bib, and chocolate chenille on the block and the back of the ribbon blankie. So any of you local girls out there are in need of a baby girl shower gift, leave me a comment-it's a unique gift that any Mom would love to have.

Fabric basket
I found an online tutorial on how to make this cute basket. I think next time, I'll use a stiffer outside fabric, maybe muslin with a decorative strip of cotton print. It stands well, but could be sturdier. I think my girls want to use this to store some polly pocket toys in. It's a great size for all those tiny items that pollys use.

Composition Notebook cover
I've had this fabric in my stash for at least 10 years! And so I decided to make a little notebook cover that Mom could use for her grocery list or to write down the scores in all the card games she plays. There is a large pocket on the left, and 3 small pockets in the front. Also, a place to store a pen. I found this pattern in a book that I checked out of the library, but I forget the name of it! I found the pocket area hard to sew through, next time I won't interface each piece of fabric.
Punch Art
I saw this card on Splitcoast, so I'm not taking credit for the idea. But it was so cute, I just had to make one too. The penguins are made with the owl punch, just snip off the ears, change the feet and put in a little beak. The trees are made with the word window punch for the stump, and hearts for the tree boughs. The moon is the 1 1/4 punch. I sponged the navy ink on top of the white for snow, then added some glitter ritz for sparkle.

Favorite card tonight
So this is my favorite card that I did tonight. Love the background harmonie paper, the glitter paper under the sentiment and all the sparkly goodness of the card. I embossed the greeting in a glitter/gold embossing powder. Used the northern flurry snowflake die cut by Stampin up. A quick card, but I think it's so beautiful.

I used this ornament stamp from the new mini and the sketch from the Sweetest Thing blog. Lot's of glossy accents, and glitter on the ornaments.

Hot chocolate card
Yet another Christmas card, I've been filling them out all afternoon. Now, there are none left and 14 still on my list. So the end is near, I can get those 14 done in the next couple of days. In the meantime, here is a stamp I bought 1 year ago and inked it for the first time last night. I used liquid applique on the marshmallows, and glossy accents on the heart.

SSSC95 Sweetest thing
So now the rush is on to make some Christmas cards! I sat in my craft room today and made 4 of these. It's an older Artful Stamper image that I've always liked. I embossed in gold, then painted with twinkling H2O's. It's been a long time since I've just used cardstock and not any patterned paper on a card. I quite like the simplicity of this one. I used a sketch from The Sweetest Thing blog.

Pam's apron
Here is yet another apron that I made for my sister in law, Pam. She'll get this from my brother Steve for Christmas. I can't believe I actually have this done so far ahead of Christmas! Yeah, me! The blue fabric is Hunky Dory by Moda, I can't remember what fabric the orange side is. Anyhow, have a good night.
Claire's coloring wallet
I've finished the wallet for Claire now as well. I think I'll add some mini gel pens to the center pocket on both hers and Charlotte's. I changed the closure as well. Charlotte's is a button with an elastic, but for this one I decided to make a velcro closure, and then just sewed a crocheted flower on top to hide the stitching from the velcro. I think I prefer the wallet with this type of closure.

A cute Christmas
Today, I did a class at the house where everyone made 10 xmas cards. I had 10 stations set up, and everyone went around and did the cards. Now I can share them on the blog, most of my girls don't want to see the cards before they come to make them, they like to be surprised! Here is the tree stamp from the Stampin Up! set A Cute Christmas that is featured in the mini right now.
