My Mom had a quilt saved for me that my grandmother and Aunt had made many years ago. She gave it to me this weekend and I had to share it on my blog. It is at least 50 years old, likely more than that but we're not sure.
As soon as I saw it, I recognized 3 of the fabrics! They look very similar (maybe a smaller scale) to Denise Schmidt's Flea Market Fancy that was so popular over the last year. Here are a few closer photos:
I thought that was so neat, that some of my favorite fabrics were in this quilt that is so old! The back of it is bleached flour sacks, sewn together as the backing. I'm so lucky to have this, and that it didn't get thrown away over the years. It will be aired out, and then safely stowed in my glass hutch in the kitchen!!
Even though I didn't make this, I am going to share it on Show and Tell Tuesday today!
