Elephants...
So awesome, love these elephants. This is an order from a friend who wants to give it as a gift, and the expecting Mom doesn't know the gender. I thought this is perfectly gender neutral, I think I may have to order more of this fabric, it really is perfect. Also, I made a matching bib to go with the set. Getting my list whittled down bit by bit!!
Bow-tie quilt re-do
Some of you may recognize this quilt from one I did last year, I had a photographer request the same quilt to use for her baby shoots. I made it a square instead of a rectangle as I think that would be better to sit the baby in the middle for a photo. This is so fun and bright, and I think it's a wonderful idea to use this as a prop. I have a decent size custom order list to work through right now, so will be busy for a little while completing it. I do plan on taking a sewing/blogging break for part of July though, time to spend with the family and not have my brain thinking of what I should be sewing!!
This quilt was inspired by one I saw on the Blue Elephant Stitches blog, and the square is a tutorial from Cluck Cluck Sew.
I'll be sharing this at Randi's Show and Tell Tuesday and also at Fabric Tuesday at Quiltstory.

Thank you/Merci Teachers!!
Well, it is very hard to believe that another school year is pretty much over!! I feel like the last 2 months especially have gone by fast. This morning, I was making some cards for my kids teacher's. One for the English teacher, and 2 the same for the homeroom French teachers. All product is SU!, I'm loving the washi tape addition this year. So easy to work with and I really like the colors. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

Shop update
Love this distressed magazine holder.
I put the cosmetic pouches on her awesome green display shelf.
Chevron table! How awesome is that? Those are patchwork camera straps with a pocket for the lens. I found a great tutorial at lbg studio.
Isn't this just the cutest sign for an entryway??
I spent the morning in Bridgewater today at As Luck Would Have It and added a few more items to the inventory. Also rearranged a few things. Karen is having her Grand Opening for the shop on July 13th, so will have to get busy making a few "extras" for that day.

And every antique rocker needs a handmade quilt over the chair back!!

Cotton and Linen zippered pouches
Today, I made these 4 zippered pouches with some beautiful fabric that has been in my stash, waiting to be used for far too long. Sometimes, it is just hard to cut up that gorgeous piece, but in the end I'm glad I did.
I'm in a dandelion phase right now, loving the seed heads in green.
And the navy with the white trees is from the Glimma collection by Lotta Jansdotter. Loving that as will. There is something about linen that adds a beauty to all projects, I'm glad I added the linen to the pouches. I will be making a road trip to Bridgewater this week, adding this to the selection I have available at As Luck Would Have It.

Knit Cowl
I know it's June, but I actually knit more in the summer than the winter. Knitting is just so portable, for outside on the patio etc. but with the cool weather I just may be wearing this soon!!
I made this cowl as a circle scarf, but not one that loops twice. I just made it a little wider and it looks great just sitting around you neck once, and less bulky too. I discovered a yarn shop in Dartmouth called Dartmouth Yarns and she has a beautiful selection of fibres in her store. This is so soft, and has a wonderful sheen to it.
Just a simple seed stitch pattern, used size 6 circular needles with 85 stitches. I have a cream color on the same needles now, I think I'll make that one a bit wider....

A rather slow week.....
I haven't done a ton of creative stuff this week. Busy with company, and lots of children's activities!! I think we are all ready for the lazy days of summer. Anyhow, above is a little basket/organizer that I am donating to an auction for a local family. Mandy from HomeGrownGoods is going to put some of her handmade crayons and chalk inside, and I'll be adding some gel pens and a large notepad.
Wanted to share artwork made by my 11 year old. I think its awesome, just need to frame it.
Had a request for 2 girl blankets. I made 2 with similar fabrics, but one will go to As Luck Would Have It in Bridgewater, and the other is a custom order. Now just to start the 2nd one! I love these little dinosaurs, so cute.
Anyhow, that's it for now. Hopefully, will have more to share in the coming week!! Get ready for some rainy weather Halifax, lots of rain tomorrow, maybe I will occupy myself with some projects!
