I made this quilt for a dear friend/teacher at my daughters' school. She was due to have a baby in July, and another teacher asked me to make her a quilt that would be part of her gift from all the teachers. I tried to make it gender neutral, with lots of bright fun colors for the baby. On the back I used a microfleece which is very soft and warm, and very easy to work with since it didn't shift, or move much during quilting. I quilted 1/4 inch in from the seams, and around the small center square.
There is nothing better than making a quilt for someone that you know is truly going to appreciate the gift. I was so excited for her to receive it, and she was so very thankful and happy to have a special blanket for her baby girl.
This week at Amy's Creative Side, she is featuring the fall installment of Blogger's Quilt Festival. It is a wonderful place to view hundreds of quilts from different bloggers all over the world. I'm linking this post to her website today.

This is very simple but yet extremely eye-catching quilt! You are so good at putting all different fabric designs together. I am sure that the gift-receivers will be thrilled when they see it. :)

Love your babyquilt. Pretty colors and love how the little blocks float around randomly in the larger squares. Really a great pattern. Thanks for sharing and have a great day
