Sneaking in a little sewing time
Our house is a construction zone right now. We're installing hardwood floors in the whole upstairs, which means all furniture/stuff is all over the rest of the house. And, the master bedroom is getting a wooden closet insert, so all the clothes are pulled out of there as well. What a mess! But, I was able to sneak away this afternoon and make this little basket. I love this fabric, such fun colors! Hopefully, will be able to go to the merchant mall at Quilt the Atlantic tomorrow as well (maybe if no one sees me leaving.....).

4 weeks today until......
I'm participating in this craft fair on June 24th at St. Mary's Boat Club. As you can see, admission is free, all the products are made/produced locally and there will be childcare on site. I've been busy creating new products, I will not be bringing any baby blankets or quilts, so keep an eye on my blog for a little preview. Hope to see you there!

Rosie
I made one more card today before the girls got home from school. This is Rosie, it's a Purple Onion stamp. I know it's hard to see from the photo, but the cardstock is gray. I love this little bunny- prismacolor pencils to color, SU! pretty in pink ink sponged around the circle, and perfect pearls pen on the tail.
Friday cards
Man, I'm on a roll with the cards this week. I've been visiting paper craft blogs and getting very inspired! I'd love to be able to just keep stamping and make an actual dent in my paper accumulation! Anyhow, top card is all SU!, bottom card stamp is Sunshine Designs. Both girls have to go to birthday parties tomorrow, so I made 2 of the bottom card for them.

Freshly Made
During my travels in cyberspace, I happened upon a card sketch website named Freshly Made Sketches and noticed they have a weekly sketch challenge. The toadstool I just made above is sketch # 36. I really like the clean lines of the sketches on the blog, and will likely be participating again in the weekly sketch inspiration. This stamp is also by Purple Onion Designs.
New cards
I was having fun this morning trying out some new stamps I bought last week. They are from a company called Purple Onions (top 3 photos). So cute, I just love that bunny, so I made the same card, but one white bunny and one brown one. The flowers are a die-cut by SU! as is all the paper and brads. I have so many dies, but never seem to use them, so I am going to be trying out some die cut cards instead of always stamping. Now, I'm off to the greenhouse to find a beautiful hanging basket.

Fabric Baskets
Today, I've been sewing some fabric baskets. The fabric is a home decor weight by Joel Dewberry. They turned out quite large, still playing around with different sizes etc. Also, not to sure about the handles. They should be shorter, or maybe spaced a little further apart on the basket, they look like puppy dog ears to me. Anyhow, they are roomy and pretty sturdy to store all your pretty things in. I'll be sewing up a bunch more- I have another fair to do June 24th at St. Mary's Boat Club in Halifax. I'll be participating with the East Coast Momma Collective that day.

Spring Bloggers Quilt festival
It's time for Amy's Spring Bloggers quilt festival, so I decided to enter this gray/aqua/red quilt. She has hundreds of quilt link ups on her blog, and they are all so beautiful! This is my most recent quilt finish, and to be honest, I haven't had a chance to start anything else! Too busy with smaller sewing projects I guess. I used a tutorial from Fresh Lemon quilts, and just made it more of a baby/lap quilt size. I love the bright pops of color against the ash background, and used some leftovers to make a pretty strip of color on the back. Now, time to drool over all the other gorgeous quilts in the gallery!

More See me Sew purse kits
I finished 2 more bags for Kelly which will be displayed in her store. She sells the kits to make these purses at her store My Stamping Studio. It comes with all the supplies, you just need to add thread, scissors, and a sewing machine!

Messenger Bag
I made this messenger bag for my daughter Claire from the See Me Sew kit by My Mind's Eye. It was pretty easy to put together, the only thing I would recommend is adding some fusible interfacing on the outside fabrics to give it a little but more structure. I was so busy on Friday trying to finish up stuff for the market, but Claire convinced me she needed this bag to go to said market, so she washed the dishes, folded and put away laundry and helped with supper! How could I say no to that! So I sewed it after supper and she was very happy.

Ready as I'll ever be....
Well, I have everything priced and ready to go. There are more blanket/bib sets but they are packed up already. My business card order was ready today as well, so I can bring those tomorrow. Hopefully I'll see some of my readers out tomorrow at the Dartmouth Farmers Market, cross your fingers for a nice sunny day, that always encourages people to be out and about!

Busy preparing
I know I haven't updated my blog in a few days, but I really have been sewing! I made a few more blankets for the market this Saturday, and next on my agenda are more crayon wallets and snack bags. I must admit, the top flannel blanket is my favorite, it's by Anne Kelle. I love her colorful designs for kids.

My Mind's Eye Purse kit
I made this purse for Kelly who owns a scrapbooking store and has started selling kits made by My Mind's Eye to make this little bag. I made it yesterday, and must admit that I made a mistake and sewed the 2 short sides together, instead of the 2 long sides before adding the ruffles etc. Of course, I didn't realize this until I turned everything right side out and wondered why my purse was wider and shorter instead of longer and more narrow. However, I do like the shape of this purse, it still turned out very cute, and now we know there are 2 options for the shape!!
