Quilted zippered pouches

Today, I made these 2 zippered fabric with some Heather Bailey scraps that I love too much to throw away! I especially love the pop garden flower. It's hard to see on the photo, but I did some straight line quilting on each side of the patchwork. This post is linked to Canoe Ridge Creations and Quiltstory.

Some new cards.....

Today, I spent some time in the afternoon making cards. Most product is Stampin Up!, but the top card has Outline rubber stamps. I just love those flowers. I stamped them on SU! pattern paper and cut them out. I'll be sending it to Newfoundland for my mother in law's bday in Oct.

On the go quilt

Okay, so I am almost done of this quilt. Tonight, while catching up on my PVR shows, I was busy slipstitching the binding. But I wanted to share this now anyway. I used a tutorial by Allison at Cluck Cluck Sew for the pattern. Most of the fabric is Riley Blake, some Michael Miller also. I think this is a record for how fast it went together and I'm proud to have actually quilted it and not just make the top and then lay it on the shelf! I'm linking this to Freshly Pieced WIP today, the button is on the right of my blog!

Bellarific Friday Sketch

I am in desperate need of restocking my card rack, especially now with birthday party season underway. So, I took advantage of the sketch provided at Stamping Bella this week and used a huggabug image by Christy Croll to color.

Boyish blankies

I made 2 more blankets today, this time the front is flannel instead of cotton. I used a chocolate brown chenille on the back, and it was so messy to work with! It looked like a gave some sort of furry animal a haircut in my sewing room this afternoon. The bottom photo color is off a bit, it is brown with light blue polka dots, even though it looks white in the photo.

Farm fresh blankie

I made a chenille blanket this afternoon with a matching bib. I'm busy preparing for fall craft shows. This one features the new line by October Afternoon called farm fresh. Maybe it's because I grew up on a farm, but I new I had to have this fabric (in every color) as soon as I saw it!

On the Go Organizer

I bought the pattern for this organizer from the GingerCake blog. I've been meaning to make it for awhile now, and finally had the chance this afternoon. Next time, I need to use a heavier weight interfacing for the cover as it doesn't lie as flat as it should. But I do think this would make a great gift, maybe with a matching cosmetic bag....

Today is fabric Tuesday at Quiltstory, so I'm linking up over there today!

Plane and Simple

Stamps, paper, sentiment are all by Stampin Up! This card will be sent to my sister and brother-in-law in PEI as part of a gift for his Dad. Tyler's father actually built his own plane, so I think this card suits him!

And one more....(2 actually)

Just finished these as well, I used a purple thread instead of cream, so didn't have them done at the same time as the ones below.

More Cosmetic bags

I've been making lots of cosmetic bags this week. I'm loving this Joel Dewberry fabric (all except the Farm Fresh little flowers by October Afternoon). I'm linking this to Sew Modern Monday (click on the sidebar to visit!).

Outline flower stamp

I bought a new stamp Sunday at My Stamping Studio and I just love it. It's by the company Outline Stamps, the serendipity line. I used Stampin Up! paper and markers, inked the edges and will be mailing this to my Aunt and Uncle in BC who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this month!

3 more sleeps until Back to School!

My girls wanted some new snack bags to bring to school, and a set of matching ones for their friends! I had them choose the fabric and quickly sewed these up for them.

Fall issue of Canadian Scrapbooker

In the spring, I had the honor of being asked to participate in the fall issue of the Canadian Scrapbooker magazine in the Passport to Creativity section. Each issue, they feature 3 scrapbookers from 1 province, this fall issue was Nova Scotia. These layouts are in the article along with my photo and a short bio/interview. They sent me a copy of the magazine and it was so exciting for us to see our pictures in there. Lots of fun for the girls too! Poor Steve, I'll have to submit a layout with him in it, he wants to be famous too :)
