Pink and Orange color combo

I had an order for a bright colored passport wallet, and this Joel Dewberry fabric is certainly that!  I love pink and orange as a color combo, and the plaid and flowers work well together from that line.  I had the orange polka dot for the strap already, and I'm not sure what line that is from, but it matched perfectly.

Lucky display find

Browsing around Winners the other day, I found this jewellery mannequin and knew it would be perfect to display my scarves on at craft fairs and for photos.  I love it, and will be on the lookout for a slightly bigger one as well!  Anyhow, above is a coral and navy stripe scarf that I made yesterday.

Gift set and a new scarf!

I'm almost finished of my custom orders for scarves.  This one is a dark gray jersey with tiny silver pin dots.  It is very beautiful and soft, she wanted it to be double wide so it is very full.  I love it!!
Pin ItI've started making gifts for the teachers at my girls school.  Above is a set of 5 cards that I will package in a handmade box.  Most supplies are Stampin Up! with the exception of the enamel dots which are My Mind's Eye.
This is one of the new in colors by Stampin Up!  It's Coastal Cabana, so lovely.  Makes me think of summer, which I sincerely hope will show up one of these days.  My girls go to a Francophone school, so the I used a French script background stamp, and just left each card blank inside.

Almost forgot- I also made 4 of these rainbow chevron scarves, which are so pretty!!
And this is a soft, wide striped gray and white fabric.  It's also a double wide scarf, as I was finding that certain types of fabric weren't hanging as full as I would have liked them too.

Setting up shop......

Today, I was in Bridgewater helping Karen Peterson get set up for her shop called As Luck Would Have It which opens tomorrow!  She reclaims furniture and turns them into pieces that anybody would be proud to have in their home.  I have my eye on a turquoise mirror..
I have a little space in her shop to showcase my items.  I brought quite a few quilts, chenille blankets, bibs
lots of infinity scarves in chevron and striped,
 a few reversible shoulder bags,
some crayon wallets, and a few cards.
Amazing desk and chair available at her shop, I just love it!!
Adorable onesies from Twice Upon a Time.
Pin ItAnd I'll leave you with this colorful rainbow of mason jars.  I want them all, seriously.  Anyhow, Karen will be open tomorrow and every Thursday-Sunday from 9-4.  Everyone needs to go for a drive to see her shop!

Bloggers Spring Quilt Festival

Pin ItIts that time of year again!  Amy from Amy's Creative Side holds two quilt festivals a year.  There are quilts posted all weekend long on her site and I love to go and admire  all the beautiful quilts.

My Toadstool quilt is my entry this year.  It's made up of half-square triangles.  I hoarded that fabric for a long time, then a friend of mine became pregnant with her second child and I knew it was time to cut into it.  The baby is due to arrive any day, and I felt that these colors were gender neutral since they decided to keep the gender of the baby a surprise.  I used Kona Ash for the solid, love that color and how it makes the bright colors pop.  I didn't take a photo of the back, but it was grey flannel with little white polka dots.  Just did some straight line quilting 1/4 inch from the ditch, some red polka dot binding and voila!  Baby quilt delivered before the baby is!

Hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys visiting all the participating quilters in the Festival.

Cuddly blanket for grown-ups!!

Last night, I finished up this super soft flannel and minky blanket for a dear friend of mine who is having surgery today.  I thought she may like to cuddle up under this soft blanket when she gets home and is recovering.  I used flannel from the Bonnie and Camille line, plus some extras in there.  On the back is white dot chenille.
Pin ItHoping to get this to her in the next week or so, thinking of her and her family today, and praying for a quick recovery.

Crayon Wallet

Pin ItBusy finishing up some more crayon wallets today.  They will soon be on their way to the shop in Bridgewater as well.  I don't normally buy a lot of pink fabric, but I am loving those cows.  Must be the farm girl in me.
And here's the back row.  Some Dr. Seuss and more cows, only in blues. I'm also making a chenille blanket, but an adult lap size.  It will be for a close friend who is facing a stay in the hospital, and I thought something warm and cozy would help.  I'll share that tomorrow, the chenille is in the wash right now, am hoping to get it sewn onto the front tonight.

Purple and Orange Color combo

I tried out a new color combo today-purple and orange.  I have some really cute owl fabric that I've been meaning to use, so just went from the colors in that fabric.
Super soft purple chenille for the back, and voila!  Done.
Made the dinosaur blanket on Saturday, then folded it up for the weekend.  Well, obviously it's in sore need of the iron, but I was too lazy to do it right then.
Pin ItAwesome blue dot chenille on the back.  I'm in the midst of making some girly crayon wallets.  Next Wednesday, I'll be dropping off product at a new shop called As Luck Would Have It in Bridgewater.  Can't wait to see the store in person.  The photos so far are amazing!!  Linking up today to Quiltstory .

As promised, ECMC fair photos

Pin ItLocal photographer, Courtney Richardson, used her expertise to take some awesome photos of the fair, the vendors and our product lines.  This is the first time I have ever had photos taken at a fair, and I'm so happy to share them with you!
 An overview of my table.

A few of the paper covered notebooks I had made.

Some crayon wallets and reusable snack bags.

My awesome logo sign (logo by Pam Harrison from the Gift of Words, and the wooden sign by Michelle at From the Heart Creations).
My little box full of luggage tags.

List takers, and in the background my chenille blankets.

Here I am, wearing my favorite aqua infinity scarf.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to have professional photos done.  Once I have set up for the fair, and get busy with customers, I would never think to stop and take some of my own photos, so this will be a great reminder for me when I'm an East Coast grandma!!

Happy Mother's Day!

A new blankie and restocking scarves

Today, I finished up a new chenille blankie, mainly using fabric from the Lucy's Crab Shack line.  I backed it with a pale yellow minky chenille.
I am slowly trying to rebuild a bit of stock.  I will be putting some merchandise in a shop called As Luck Would Have It located in Bridgewater.  She is hoping to have it open for business around the end of May.  The days seem to be flying by, and I haven't had any solid sewing days since before the fair, so I really need to get moving!!
Pin ItI've also been working on some more infinity scarves.  The ones above just need to have a little bit of hand stitching done and then they will be ready to go to her store as well.  I'll also bring a few more to Emmett and Ellie's in Charlottetown, PEI.
Tonight, hubby was able to get tickets to the Mooseheads hockey game, so we will be joining the thousands of screaming fans at the Metro centre tonight.  Fingers crossed that they win-could be the last game tonight!
