Marathon of sewing..
This week I've been trying to cross some items off my craft fair sewing list. The above is an awesome tray full of reusable snack bags, they take way longer to make than they look!! Anyhow, now have a stock of 30, one item crossed off!
I was in PEI last week and had a chance to visit a beautiful shop in Charlottetown called Emmett and Ellie's. The whole store is full of locally made products, and I found this awesome wood tray there (I think I need and intervention when it comes to buying wood trays and furniture, but I mean look at it, how could I leave it there?). I plan on filling it with greeting cards but for now have the list takers there that I made this week as well.

This one is for me!
I bought some lovely cream Eco Wool at LK yarns last week and made this cowl with it. I used the Gap Tastic Cowl pattern found on Ravelry, but just made it 8 inches instead of 15 inches wide. I'm pretty short, so thought the extra big cowl might look a little funny on me. Just in time for a new scarf, today was a snow day and the temperature has been really cold!! New scarf colors
Tangerine and White Chevron
Grayscale Chevron
Eggplant and White Chevron
Robin's Egg Blue
Last night I returned to sewing some infinity scarves. These are the newest colors I have. I love the eggplant one, and the tangerine is screaming summer-which I am definitely ready to see the sun again. Today, it is peeking out for the first time in what feels like weeks! Custom bag
So, it's hard to photograph this, but I was asked to make a black messenger bag that would fit a musical instrument, laptop, and other smaller items. It measures about 25 inches wide, so rather large! I used the same black fabric for the inside as well, put a zippered pocket on the inside, a zippered pocket on the flap, as well as 2 pockets in the lining. The back of the bag has one large pocket, and the strap is adjustable. I learned lots of new things on this bag, as well as figuring out a pattern since I couldn't find any the size I needed. Anyhow, hope this works out for the person who wants it!!Sunday, March 3, 2013

Cards today
This is a new stamp that I just ordered from Stampin Up! It's a background stamp called Pleasant Poppies, and is quite a pretty stamp once colored. This card will soon be on it's way to my Aunt who lives in Montreal. She shares the same birthday as my oldest daughter!
Then, I made one more set of notecards today. The stamps are all Stampin Up! as well as the ink, although mainly retired colors-Peach Parfait, Poppy Parade and Tangerine Tango (which is still current). I'm enjoying making cards again, think I will concentrate a bit more on the paper side of things for my next craft show!

New apron
I made this apron today, it's the Emmeline reversible apron pattern that I have used many times before! The light is fading fast, but wanted to photograph it today anyhow. It's fun to do something a little different now and then, I've been making so many scarves lately that I really needed a change before returning to them! Monday, February 25, 2013
Antique Quilt
My Mom had a quilt saved for me that my grandmother and Aunt had made many years ago. She gave it to me this weekend and I had to share it on my blog. It is at least 50 years old, likely more than that but we're not sure.
As soon as I saw it, I recognized 3 of the fabrics! They look very similar (maybe a smaller scale) to Denise Schmidt's Flea Market Fancy that was so popular over the last year. Here are a few closer photos:
I thought that was so neat, that some of my favorite fabrics were in this quilt that is so old! The back of it is bleached flour sacks, sewn together as the backing. I'm so lucky to have this, and that it didn't get thrown away over the years. It will be aired out, and then safely stowed in my glass hutch in the kitchen!!
Even though I didn't make this, I am going to share it on Show and Tell Tuesday today!

15 minute Friday
What do you do with 15 minutes of craft time? Well, I was going to iron the backing for my quilt, but when I plugged in the iron, discovered it was totally dead! Will have to replace it tomorrow. So, I still wanted to get my crafty fix for the day, and have wanted to make a few sets of note cards for my stash. I used this set from Stampin Up! and made 4 matching cards, packaged them together with envelopes with some awesome orange bakers twine.I did 2 of each in different colors. I think I will make a few different styles for my upcoming craft fairs. I have always been a sucker for stationary, even as a young girl, I loved going to the local office supply store to look at all the different papers and pens-and there wasn't even any glitter sold there!
Anyhow, hope everyone has a great weekend!!

To border or not?
I have my blocks pieced together into a top, courtesy of yesterdays snow day. This is half of the top, its folded over so it ended up being 4 squares across and 5 down. Anyhow, I wasn't intending to put a border on it, but now am thinking of just a small, maybe 2-3 inch border with the kona ash. Any opinions out there from my fellow quilters?Linking up to Quiltstory and Show and Tell Tuesday today.

WIP Wednesday
Hooray! I've started piecing a new baby quilt. This will be a gift for my husband's business partner. They are expecting their 2nd child in May, trying to go for gender neutral, and I've been hoarding this toadstool fabric for just the right quilt. Had lots of time to piece my HST's over the storm weekend. All the blocks are done, just have to sew them into rows and decide if I want to border it or not. I don't want the quilt to be large, rather to be used in the stroller or car seat.Monday, my shipment of chevron jersey knit arrived so yesterday was spent cutting and sewing this beautiful fabric into infinity scarves. Still lots more to finish, but I did get a good start on it yesterday. I'm so in love with these colors. I have a few more I haven't cut into yet, that will be this afternoons project!

Love cards
New Cards
Friday, I had a workshop and we made these 4 cards, plus one more that I will also be making for the Stamp-a-Stack in Windsor on April 14th, so I want to keep that as a surprise for now! Anyhow, all the items used are Stampin Up! I was supposed to have one more class yesterday but with this nasty snowstorm I postponed it until next Saturday. Let's hope that's it for storms for this year! I have started a new quilt that will be a gift for a friend who is due in May, I will be sharing that later in the week, when the top is all pieced.Wednesday, February 6, 2013
Knit Cowl
I made another cowl over the weekend, best project ever to do while catching up on tv shows! I used size 8mm circular needles, 131 stitches and just did a seed stitch pattern of K1 P1, making sure the next row was opposite stitches. The yarn is new to me, made in Germany, named Schachenmayr and it is very soft and cozy for winter. Linking up today at The Needle and Thread Network.
