How to stay occupied in the car.....

When we have a long drive ahead of us in the car (as long as I'm a passenger, obviously) I like to make thrum mitts to add to my table at craft fairs.  I finished this pair while we were in Newfoundland and I thought I'd share this photo with the ladies at the Needle and Thread Network!

Wish I could work in a car. These are great but what does thrummed mean?

Like elle, I cannot knit or crochet in the car, probably because my dh does dumb things while driving! Love the mitts, reminds me I promised Mitts for my Manitoba neices... better get busy!

Lol Susan is too funny!! I can't do anything like this in the car, either. But it's because I get motion sickness...lol Great work

I'm with Susan...I couldn't do it either as I'm a white knuckle passenger....LOL They usually make me sit in the back.

I made a pair of thrummed mittens like that, one. I lost them, when my son broke up with a past girl friend. I guess I should make another pair.

Well done you! I did a little needlepoint cushion of moon snail shells one summer on a car trip in NS! not sure I would be able to do that today!

Great mittens. I have everything to make some but the time.....My travel/waiting project is knitting dish clothes. Not difficult, and even if I screw up they are still usable.
